Marty and Shannon had a chance to travel to St. Jude Children’t Research Hospital in Memphis, TN last week.  They joined almost 900 other radio professionals from around the country who support this amazing hospital.  We were so humbled last month when you donated over $40,000 for St. Jude on 95X.  We look forward to seeing you in your #thisshirtsaveslives t-shirt.

Hope.  Hope is everywhere you look at St. Jude.  Hope is in the artwork that fills the walls that the children created.  Hope is in the laughter you hear in the halls.  Hope is in the gardens and in the eyes of the parents and doctors and nurses and every single person that keeps that place running day and night.  Hope greets you when you walk through the campus.

Marty and Shannon got to speak with a boy who is now interning at St. Jude… he’s from the Bahamas and survived stage 4 leukemia thanks to St. Jude.  By the time he was diagnosed he was HOURS from death.  His local hospital wouldn’t begin treatments without the payment of $300,000 up front… can you imagine hearing that?  “We’re very sorry, but unless you give us over a quarter of a million dollars your child will die”.  NOT AT ST JUDE.  Because of your donations no family ever gets a bill.  If they don’t have insurance, or if insurance isn’t feeling like covering something… St Jude doesn’t care- they do what they need to do for their kids.  These flags that fly inside the Danny Thomas Research Center on the St. Jude campus represent all of the nations of the world that have sent kids to St. Jude for treatment.
