Sometimes “Mother Nature” has different plans than promoters, fans and bands have on the day of an outdoor festival. Yesterday was a day like that for tens-of-thousands of people gathered in Las Vegas for the scheduled 3-day festival known as the When We Were Young Festival.
This was the message sent out as the news was made official less than an hour before gates were scheduled to open for the first day of festivities:
Sunday’s show wasn’t cancelled or postponed and the 3rd date, Saturday, October 29th is set to take place as scheduled also.
Paramore and My Chemical Romance are co-headliners each day with the undercard changing a bit on the final weekend.
Some bands made the best of a bad situation by working with local clubs to schedule smaller events so fans that traveled in from distances far and near weren’t completely disappointed.
All-American Rejects, Hawthorne Heights, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Armor for Sleep, Kittie and State Champs and others all scheduled shows or meet & greet events for the day.
